100 Years of Style
I saw this over on The Streets I Know (another vegan style blog -- check it out). This video perfectly appeals to the costumer in me. So cute!
International Klein Blue
Everyone's talking about Klein Blue being one of the trends of the upcoming season, and I'm pumped; it's one of my favorites.
For those that aren't familiar with this cryptic "International Klein Blue" color, it's the vivid blue of Mexican tile, of the background you might see in a picture of Frida Kahlo, and of a perfectly polished piece of lapis lazuli. In the 50's, French artist Yves Klein used the color in a series of monochromatic works, and ever after his name will be attached to it. In any case, it's like this:
And here are a ton of vegan options to surround yourself in this glorious hue (or something very close to it)...

Jersey Pencil Skirt $50 (topshop)
Cobalt Tuck Waist Shift Dress $95.00 (topshop)
Paige Denim 'Roxbury' Stretch Denim Crop Jeans $99 (nordstrom)

ASOS T-Shirt with Slouchy Boyfriend Fit $18.30 (asos)
ASOS Twist Back Tank $14.64 (asos)

Vaute Couture A/W 2011 Lookbook
The Vaute Couture Autumn/Winter 2011 lookbook is out and it's making me actually want cold weather. Believe me, it takes one amazing spread of vegan coats to make this southern girl think longingly of snow! Additionally, all of the styles are up for pre-order with a nice discount. I'm leaning towards the Belden (pictured below) myself!
Check out the full lookbook here and pre-order any of the styles at the Vaute Couture online shop.

Net-a-Porter style inspiration
I've been browsing the outfits on Net-a-Porter lately to get ideas. One that recently caught my eye is below... nothing crazy, just slim jeans, fun tank, nice blazer, and some killer peep toe booties. And you could easily swap out the stiletto booties for some chuck taylors and make things a little more casual.
Of course the issue here is that this outfit is on Net-a-Porter. The Helmut Lang silk-chiffon tank is not only silk, but is $320. The Sonia Rykiel tuxedo jacket is lined in silk and goes for $1,495. And the Miu Miu boots are leather and $795. Yeesh. The jeans, at least, wouldn't be too hard to find.
For those with a little cash to spend, I tried the Connie Crepe Jacket ($288) on at French Connection the other day and it looked killer. The fabric is Viscose, Acrylic and Polyester, so you don't get burned by the wool/silk issue that arises with most nicer blazers and jackets.
Otherwise, there are tons of vegan blazers to be found at Forever 21 and H&M. It's just a matter of finding one that works for you.
The shoes are the other vegan-critical part of this look. Personally, I'm thinking these Aldo Maytorena Boots ($80), which are all synthetic.
If you don't stick to the bootie look, the Olsenhaus Muse pumps ($148.50 on endless.com right now!) are a great option:
Otherwise, I'm thinking the Madden Girl Kevvin Ankle Boot ($45.59) or the Olsenhaus Sea Peep-Toe Pump ($126.50), both also available and endless.com.

Olsenhaus Fall/Winter 2011
The Olsenhaus Fall/Winter 2011 line lookbook is up on their site and damn is it snazzy. Not to mention it appears to be entirely sci-fi inspired, with plenty of reflective materials and names like "Jedi", "Ewok", and "Millenium". A few of my favs are below. You can find the full lookbook pdf here. Can't wait to see these in stores! (Though I can wait to see their pricetags...)

I stopped by Target today and their fall boots are out in force. And they are almost all vegan! Or at least the ones I tried on, anyway. Here are a few choice selections, all of which are also available at Target online, along with many more options.

Hello Fall, Hello Blog
There have been a few nights in New England lately with just a touch of fall in the air, which means it's time to start my love/hate affair with fall fashion. Boots, sweaters, coats, yes! But vegan? Ouch. That is where my inspiration often turns to heartache. This time, I've decided to share my finds and obsessions with the any other vegetarians or vegans on a style mission. Let's talk vegan companies, vegan alternatives for the season's trends, vegan boutiques, and those sometimes magical "accidentally vegan" options that appear in the world.
Now, for the fine print: I don't only support all-vegan brands and shops, though those are certainly my favorites. And I do not shop at only earth-friendly, organic, and human rights oriented companies, but those are obviously better than the alternative. So, expect to see a little of everything. (And please, don't have an aneurysm if I recommend a Forever 21 shoe over a leather alternative.)
